CLUB HISTORY

Highfields and District Junior Rugby League Club officially entered the Toowoomba and District Junior Rugby League Competition in 2005. In its inaugural season, the Club registered 85 junior players and fielded six teams from Under 7’s through to Under 12’s. Now having just completed its tenth year of operation, the Club has in excess of 205 registered players with 16 teams competing from Under 7’s through to Under 16’s. In 2012, the Eagles won the TJRL Club Championship and were participants in four of the six premier league grand finals.

In terms of the senior club, Highfields first entered the competition in 2010 fielding an Under 18 team. This was extended in 2011 with the participation of A Grade and Reserve Grade teams. The seniors were successful in the 2011 season with an Under 18 title. In 2015 the Club has 70 registered senior players. The growth of the Club over its first ten years has been largely the result of the efforts of a large group of committed parents and supporters who have worked tirelessly to grow a successful club linked closely to the community of Highfields and importantly its overwhelming growth cycle.
